Post 4 - Time travel to the past or the future

For this post you are going to imagine that you can travel to the past or the future

Include the following information:

·    Where would you like to go? Why?

·    What time in the past or future?

·    Would you like to stay there? Why/Why not?

Make comments on 3 of your classmates’ posts + a comment on your teacher's post

Word Count: 220 words

Below is my example.

My main interest in travelling to the future would be to witness change. I'm curious as to whether the world will be better or worse. I am interested in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). That is why if I could travel to the future I would like to go to 2050 in order to see the changes and how the world will have dealt with the issue of climate change (or not).

I would like to go to many different places round the world so that I could get a good perspective of the changes on different continents. Of course, I would be most interested in places where I have already been so that I would be able to compare. I would focus on visiting major urban areas as well as some geographically interesting places in Europe and the Americas.

I don't think I would want to stay in the future, because I'm sure that I wouldn't be able to handle the changes that would have taken place in the next thirty years. I would like to return to the current time so that I could live my life. However, visiting the future would most definitely make a huge impact on the way that I live the rest of my life, which could be full of joy or completely depressed, depending on what I see in the future.

I got the picture above from Wired magazine. Here is a link to the article that attempts to predict the year 2050.

  3. Interesting choise Miss, I think the changes from going to the future, were positive or not, would be 'a lot to digest', because of the huge amount of info, changes in areas like the linguistics, architecture, politics... and knowledge created in those thirty years.

    1. I agree, it would probably be overwhelming. I sometimes wonder what my grandparents would think if they were alive today.

  4. I think it would be a big challenge to go to the future, because then you would have to live knowing what is going to happen. But that doesn't mean I'm not curious to know what 2050 holds for us 😱

  6. I would love to travel to the future, but y think that is way to sad to see what we are doing to the world. I wouldn´t travel because I'd be to afraid to see if we didn´t make to save the world.
